Getting Started

How do I create my first Loop?

Tap the "Loops" tab, then tap the "+" button. Give your loop a name (like "Morning Champions"), add an optional description, choose a color, and decide if it should be private or public. You can add habits immediately or come back to it later.

How do I invite friends to my Loop?

Open any loop you own or admin, tap the invite button (person with a plus icon), then search for friends by username. They'll receive a notification and can accept your invitation to join the loop.

What's the difference between daily and interval habits?

Daily habits are due every day. Interval habits let you set custom frequencies (e.g., every 2 days, every 3 days). When you complete an interval habit, it stays checked for the entire interval period. Perfect for habits like "Rest Day" or "Deep Clean."

Loops & Habits

Can I customize habits in a Loop?

Yes! Each member can customize their habits. You can change the interval (e.g., loop default is daily, but you set it to every 2 days), enable/disable specific habits, or mark them as private. Your customizations don't affect other members.

What are private habits?

Private habits count toward your completion stats, but the habit title and details remain hidden from other loop members. Only your completion percentage is visible. Great for personal habits you want to track alongside shared ones.

What's the difference between Owner, Admin, and Member roles?

Owner: Can manage members, change roles, delete the loop, and has all admin privileges.
Admin: Can invite members, add/delete habits, and edit loop settings.
Member: Can view the loop, complete habits, and customize their own assignments.

Can I leave a Loop?

Yes. Open the loop, tap the settings gear icon, scroll down, and tap "Leave Loop." This will remove all your habit assignments and logs for that loop. If you're the owner and the last member, the loop will be deleted.

Social Features

How do I add friends?

Go to the "Friends" tab, tap the search icon, and enter their username. Tap "Add Friend" to send a request. They'll receive a notification and can accept or decline your request.

What are pings?

Pings are friendly reminders you can send to loop members who haven't completed all their habits. Tap the ping button next to their name, add an optional custom message (up to 75 characters), and they'll receive a push notification. It's a fun way to keep everyone accountable!

Can I see my friend's progress?

You can see completion stats for friends in shared loops (e.g., "3/5 habits completed"). Private habits count toward their total but remain hidden. You won't see progress for loops you're not both in.

Notifications & Settings

How do I set up daily reminders?

Go to your Profile tab, scroll to "Notification Preferences," toggle on "Daily Reminders," and set your preferred time. You'll receive a personalized notification at that time each day if you have incomplete habits.

Can I disable certain notifications?

Yes! You can enable/disable each notification type individually: Pings, Friend Requests, Loop Invites, and Daily Reminders. Go to Profile → Notification Preferences to customize.

Does Rhythmic support dark mode?

Yes! Rhythmic automatically detects your system preference. You can also manually toggle between System, Light, and Dark modes in your Profile → Theme Picker.

What happens if I travel to a different timezone?

Rhythmic automatically detects your timezone when you open the app. Your "today" view and habit calculations adjust to your current timezone, so you'll always see accurate due dates no matter where you are.

Account & Privacy

How do I change my profile photo?

Go to your Profile tab, tap "Edit Profile," then tap on your avatar circle. You can choose a photo from your library. If you don't upload a photo, Rhythmic will show your initials with a colorful gradient background.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Rhythmic uses industry-standard encryption and security practices. Your data is stored securely with Supabase, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and all API requests use JWT authentication. We never share your personal information with third parties.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. To delete your account and all associated data, please email us at support@rhythmicapp.ca with your username. We'll process your request within 48 hours.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving push notifications

First, check that notifications are enabled in your iPhone Settings → Rhythmic → Notifications. Then, in the Rhythmic app, go to Profile → Notification Preferences and ensure the notification types you want are toggled on. If issues persist, try signing out and back in.

My habits aren't syncing

Try pulling down to refresh on the Today or Loop view. If that doesn't work, check your internet connection. Rhythmic requires an active internet connection to sync data. If problems continue, try restarting the app.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link via email. Follow the instructions to set a new password.

The app is crashing or behaving unexpectedly

First, make sure you're running the latest version of Rhythmic from the App Store. Try force-quitting the app and reopening it. If issues persist, try restarting your iPhone. Still having problems? Contact us at support@rhythmicapp.ca with details about what you're experiencing.
